Music Department
Our Mission
The goal of the Preble Shawnee Band Program is to provide our students with a quality music education in a safe, inclusive, and productive environment.
Performers will have the chance to experience music from a wide variety of composers and cultures while learning techniques that allow them to perform at a high level on their chosen instrument.
Each student is expected to be the best that they can be by being respectful to the director and their fellow classmates, being responsible for their instruments and their actions, and being reliable by showing up on time (or early!) with all of the proper materials.
Our Programs
Concert Band
The Preble Shawnee Middle School and High School concert bands are the core of our band program. Each band performs at least 2 concerts per school year. The High School Wind Ensemble regularly attends OMEA District 13 Solo and Ensemble and Large Group Competitions.
Marching Band
The Marching Arrows proudly represent Preble Shawnee at many parades and exhibitions throughout the season. Notable performances include the Preble County Fair and Pork Festival Parades and Wayne Halftime USA.
Indoor Percussion
This extra-curricular group showcases our strongest musicians grades 7-12. Students work for months to perfect a themed show for MEPA competitions with the goal of taking home first place!
